The team

Fabio Forno

Fabio Forno got is Ph.D. in 2004, with a research titled Communication in distributed context-aware applications: a scalable architecture based on the extensible messaging and presence protocol. His researches, made at Politecnico in Torino, Italy, targeted scalability and security in peer to peer systems, and focused on developing value added services based on XMPP protocol in the mobility field.
In the past years Fabio did some IT consultancy regarding: search engines and online community (SEAT Pagine Gialle), e-Learning tools (Istituto Superiore Mario Boella), grid computing, IPv6 and realtime internet (CSI Piemonte), WiFi applied to videosurveillance (5T).
During 2004 he worked at Politecnico, Torino, on a research project sponsored by Microsoft, whose aim was to create a locating system based on Bluetooth. As a result of this project, Fabio has been assigned an European Patent.
Since 2005 Fabio is working at Istituto Superiore Mario Boella, where he worked mainly on context-aware applications and RFID systems, designing and developing a middleware that can integrate RFID systems, various hardware and software prototypes aimed at document management, warehouse and production process management and disabled people support.
At the end of 2005, capitalizing on his experiences in developing embedded systems and defining communication protocols for distributed systems, he has the idea to create an extensible platform, based on standard protocols, to deliver services for mobile clients and remote control for embedded devices. He then gathers the group shown in this page and the Bluendo adventure begins.

Alessandro Malgaroli

Alessandro Malgaroli got his master degree in Electronic Engineering in 1998. His studies focused mainly in software and hardware for microprocessor-based systems and terminated with his master thesis where he studied and applied criptography to internet network connections.
After his degree, he started working for various ICT consultancy companies, in different application fields and using different techologies, designing and developing applications for various customers.
In 1998, working for Ernst & Young Consulting (now Cap Gemini) develops a document and workflow management system delivered to FIAT Auto.
In 1999, collaborating with Atos (now Atos Origin), works on a research project, developing an experimental shop-floor control system using autonomous agents and distributed technologies.
In 2000, works for TXT e-solutions, designing a web-based order management application integrated with the other Supply Chain Management products developed in-house by the company.
From 2001 to 2005, employed by SSBProgetti, he works as a team leader in the ICT department of Sanpaolo-IMI bank (now Intesa Sanpaolo). During those years he coordinates the team that develops and mantain the exchanges information section of the bank's internet site, and at the same time designs and lead a development team that build a system for exchange data gathering retrieval and push distribution that is released to the whole bank intranet. In the late 2005 the bank uses the push capabilities offered by the platform managed by Alessandro so to offer its customer a professional trading application.
During 2005 Alessandro quits his position as an employee and starts a free-lance career; when Fabio explain Alessandro the Bluendo idea, he joins enthusiastically.
During 2006 Alessandro offers his skills to .ITTrading where he leads and coordinates the development team charged of the company's middleware product. Luca Tagliaferri

During 2001 he graduated at the Politecnico in Torino and meanwhile took his bachelor degree at the University of Illinois at Chicago with a thesis related to fault tolerance software development.
With the Ph.D. thesis Source code modifications for online error detection and correction, Luca Tagliaferri got his Ph.D. at Politecnico, Torino in 2004. His studies led him to build a software that, using particular techniques, could detect and correct run-time errors occurred due to unauthorized access by external agents.
During the Ph.D. Luca has contributed developing a tool that injects errors and faults during a program execution; Luca also published six papers regarding his researches. Between 2004 and 2006 he continued his researches with a grant paid by Politecnico.
Between 2005 and 2006, Luca did some work as IT consultant with Bmedia, Uno Sistemi Torino and Gran Paradiso, collaborating on e-commerce projects.
In 2005 he worked for CACE Technologies to extend their network packet capture and analysis software.
Since end 2005 he's employed in Digigroup where he designs and develops the multimedia and operation management software for urban transport vehicles.
